« The Forgotten Between Two Waters »: Submerged Memory and Metamorphosed Bodies - lyon
Last November, I spent several enriching days in Lyon with a distinguished group of academics and Orientalists, who presented important and diverse contributions. I was especially pleased by the scholarly paper presented by Dr. Hilda, Head of Arabic Studies and Contemporary Literature at the university, on the novel The Forgotten Between Two Waters . Following that, I was interviewed by Dr. Rami Abu Shihab, after which we held an open discussion with the audience about water, my island, and my experience writing the novel. I also had a meeting session with master’s students and those interested in the Arabic language alongside Dr. Hilda. We then toured the university, and several literary works, along with a copy of the novel, were added to the university library for students of Arabic language studies.
