« The Forgotten Between Two Waters »: Submerged Memory and Metamorphosed Bodies - lyon

Last November, I spent several enriching days in Lyon with a distinguished group of academics and Orientalists, who presented important and diverse contributions. I was especially pleased by the scholarly paper presented by Dr. Hilda, Head of Arabic Studies and Contemporary Literature at the university, on the novel The Forgotten Between Two Waters. Following that, I was interviewed by Dr. Rami Abu Shihab, after which we held an open discussion with the audience about water, my island, and my experience writing the novel.

I also had a meeting session with master’s students and those interested in the Arabic language alongside Dr. Hilda. We then toured the university, and several literary works, along with a copy of the novel, were added to the university library for students of Arabic language studies.
